Laureen M. Jacobs, M. A, M. F. T, is a senior Psychotherapist, Marriage and Family Counselor, and Drug and Alcohol Recovery Specialist. Licensed in California since 1975. As the Director of The Westside Counseling Service since 1979 and Co-Director of The Road to Recovery Program, since 1996, she is well qualified. She is an International Addiction Consultant.
Early in her career she was an educator and teacher herself, and a parent and teacher trainer. She has consulted with the Head Start Program as well being a consultant in the 11 Western States. She consulted in special education, for Behavioral Research Laboratories, a division of McGraw Hill Publishers. One year she consulted in some 500 school. She holds a Junior College Teaching Credential. She is a Parent Effectiveness Trainer, and is currently licensed as a Continuing Education Provider, in California, teaching other psychotherapists.
Since 1975 Laureen has been licensed to diagnose and treat mental and emotional disorders. In 1996 she joined the Psycho-social services department of Pacific Oaks Medical Group, in Beverly Hills, California where she co-created an outpatient Drug and Alcohol Recovery Program. This is The Road to Recovery Program, which is going strong with a success rate of 85% for those patients who remain in treatment up to the first year of sobriety or longer. She is well respected among her peers and patients alike.
